Australian artist Bridget Mac b. 1985 lives and works in Melbourne.
Bridget has had six successful solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne. These include 'Elevate' at Edmund Pearce, 'Glas' at Trocadero Artspace, 'Dual' at The Stockroom curated by 'Nite Art' and 'Vacant' at China Heights.
Mac has also shown in group exhibitions in Berlin, Washington DC, Canberra and Sydney.
She has published and launched a book titled ‘Ost Artists’. The book is a culmination of portraits and interviews completed in Germany, looking at artists and musicians who were living and working under the regime of the German Democratic Republic. Mac was awarded the inaugural Pool Grant in 2010 to complete this project.
Bridget has been a finalist in numerous established prizes, including the Iris Awards in July 2013 at the Perth Centre for Photography for 'Lucien in the Sky' and Head On Photographic Portrait Prize for work ‘That Day. The Miscarriage’ in May 2011. Mac won the National Youth Self Portrait Prize, for ‘Masculine/Feminine’ in July 2010.
The Washington Post, The Australian National Portrait Gallery Magazine and The Australian Newspaper have all reviewed her work with outstanding merit.
Bridget's work is included in private collections in Sydney, Melbourne, Hamburg and Washington DC.
